Is it time for a switch?

I destroyed the rear passenger axel while driving to unSCruz. Unaverz has experienced a steady stream of small mechanical problems through the years as is to be expected with a 1982 26,000 GVW truck. Our crew has been operating on Craig’s philosophy of ‘make what you have work,’ but are now looking at major repairs on a 33 year-old vehicle.

Teph found this Craigs List ad for a 1993 Ford F 700 in San Jose. I drove down today to check it out and bring it over to the nice guys at FJM. One option we are looking at is to purchase the newer truck and migrate the artwork over. While this will take more work than a rear axle replacement, we will have upgraded to a newer truck with an automatic transmission.

Martin, over at FJM, is testing both vehicles and will report back tomorrow with his findings. We can fix the current truck or purchase the new one and migrate the artwork over. Is it time to switch? Time will tell…
