I spent over an hour taking down all the lights tonight. This gave me plenty of time to reflect on the amazing work of our crew last year. I want to give a special thanks to Adam, Todd and Teph. You guys really did a fantastic job. UNAVERZ would not have been the same without you. Woot!

Evan is still working out connectivity issues with our 220 outlets.
This is our MIG welder and the extension cable Jeff made.
This is our handy converter to plug into the generator.
This is Evan’s TIG welder
And…
This is the plug we need to use.

I love grinding as much as the next person (honestly, I do enjoy it!) so I left my house after 10pm to come grind a bit.
There is something gnarly on the steps. I agree with Sheri, the flat discs work best. After 30 minutes on two steps, I had to admit I was doing something wrong and so I set the tools aside and took a break.
After taking down all the lights I sat looking on the top deck for inspiration on a shade cover. Nothing solid came but I do have a number of ideas to toss around. I am particularly interested in building something that can be easily constructed up at Burning Man and can be stored in a compact space. It needs to be strong enough to hold a few people and, ideally, people would have something to hold on to while up there.
Common consensus is to just paint the steel so we don’t have to worry about the rust every year. The Three Musketeers disagree. We gave ourselves until the work party to grind the rust off. If that didn’t happen, we agreed to discuss painting at the work party.
It is with great pride that I can say the railings I attacked tonight never looked better! I am happy we decided to follow our dreams of creating art this year.
Forget paint! Grind, baby. Grind!
